May 6 today. Andy drove us to Lucca from Assisi yesterday, so here we are. A chap in Rome from Sydney suggested we stroll out alongside the aqueduct flowing into the city and we took his advice. [The chap in question reckoned that English was his second language and he spent half his time in each of Sydney and Rome.]
So that’s what we did today. About halfway along we found a restaurant similar to our favoured restaurant in Beaune – Café de l’Abattoir. A workers’ café. Here we gorged on a 3-course meal, with wine and coffee for a total of €14 each. Splendid!
