Funeral of a Pope

Yes. We were there. Jorge's farewell. Who would have thought that DJ and I would shsre this intersection of Time and Space with a just-dead Pope! "What was it like?", I hear you ask. Well it was like this: We could have been anywhere in the wide world. Because of the crowds. We chose to go to the Final Resting Place. And here were MORE people. Buckets of them, with us two squished in the middle. Luckily, the chap in front of us had his mobile phone cranked up with the realtime video on. We watched as the wheeling-in of the coffin took place at Cathedral Santa Maria Maggiore. [Let me say, at this point, that the cathedral of Saint Mary Major is NOT a humble resting place. It's quite grand, in fact, and as such not in accordance with Old Jorge's wishes I dare to say.] I'm going to find a way of adding photos to this blog so have patience and forgive me. Toodles!
