Todi surprises

Off to Todi today, May 4. No real reason to make this trip, other than that Todi is another hill town within the day-trip radius of Assisi. And what a day it was. We scaled the hill via a track through a beautiful park with a number of switch-backs. At the top we came across ANOTHER cathedral, but the activity of the morning was packing up and we had missed it. Archery and crossbows, it seems.

In the town square we came across lots of local dressed in medieval costumes sporting their bows and their arrows. We had missed the competition, but had chanced upon the presentations, dancing and flag-tossing. What a hoot!

Here are some photos:

The best parts of travel is when you come across spectacular events like this purely by chance. Although we appreciate religious ceremonies, it is good to see events that are enjoyed by the local community.

Toodles!
